In 2007 Clay Mixon, a premiere IT programmer in the Florida Parishes area of Louisiana while working with Don Bankston and James Griffith both of Hammond, Louisiana on the Adventure Eye Video rental system and kiosk project shared with them a security surveillance prototype he had designed called the Watchtower. Bankston and Griffith immediately saw the potential in this product type. Mixon formed a product company named Onsite Guardian with Bankston and Griffith for the purpose of creating state-of-the-art wireless, solar powered, video surveillance systems that could be effectively deployed in remote locations that lack the normal infrastructure, including phone lines, cable and electricity.
1. Company formed in September of 2007 as a subsidiary of parent company Adventure Eye Video Systems, LLC ( adventureeye.com).
2. Prototype model of the first security system, The Watchtower, completed in October of 2007.
3. The company starts first production run of ten Watchtower units in November of 2007.
4. Sales and Rental efforts begin in January of 2008.
5. Market research and customer feedback leads to the development of Version 2 of the Watchtower in the summer of 2008.
6. The Gatekeeper unit is developed in August of 2008.
7. The Sentry unit is developed in October of 2008.
8. The Rover unit is developed in February of 2009.
9. The first Integrator/Dealer is signed, as Fisher Safety places an order for fifteen (15) Rover units in June of 2009.
10. Gulf Industries, the first Distributor/Dealer is signed up in June of 2009.
11. The first production run for fifteen (15) Rover units is completed in October of 2009.
12. Market research and customer feedback lead to the development of Version 2 of the Rover unit in November of 2009.
13. Evans-Graves Engineering/Army Corps of Engineers is the first recipient of Version 2 Rover units in January of 2010.
14. Development of Version 3 of the Rover unit begins in March of 2010.
15. Company enters into OEM discussions with various companies nationwide in March of 2010.
16. Design innovations created for the Rover Version 3 leads to the redesign of the Watchtower and Sentry units in April of 2010.
17. Design innovations lead to the redesign and creation of the Gatekeeper Version 2 in April of 2010.
