Tank Monitoring System


Camera Monitoring System (Class 1 Div 1)

  • Cameras, cabling, connectors & float switches meet Class 1 Div 1 specifications. All components passing through hazardous area also meet Class 1 Div 1 specifications.
  • System provides operators with a real time view inside each tank. All camera streams are viewed simultaneously on a monitor in the operations trailer. This gives operators the ability to see inside all tanks with a quick glance. All cameras are 5 megapixel IP cameras.
  • Camera stream provides a clear image of the level markers inside the tank along with a clear view of the water/brine itself.
  • The system allows operators to see the amount of turbulence in the tank along with the amount of foaming that may be occurring.
  • Real time viewing of the tanks can be used to supplement other telemetry systems to determine accuracy and functionality of those systems.
  • System can be quickly deployed and removed from the site. It is built in a modular fashion allowing for easy transport to new site.
  • IR blasters are installed on each camera to provide clear video stream at night.
  • Cameras are mounted to a Military Spec magnetic tripod base for quick and easy installation and removal.

Remote Monitoring

  • All camera streams can be remotely monitored via any Internet connected PC, Tablet or Smart Phone.
  • System allows for multiple sites to be viewed simultaneously.
  • Feature allows for remote operations to be established if desired.

Alert System

  • Class 1 Div 1 Float switch is integrated into the camera monitoring system and installed at each tank.
  • When the tank reaches a critical level, determined at installation, the switch is activated. Upon activation a number of alerts and notifications will begin simultaneously.
    • Speaker installed in the Operations Trailer will play an alert siren followed by a recorded message, “Tank 2 Level Alert. Tank 2 Level Alert”. This feature quickly notifies operators that a tank has reached a critical level and exactly which tank it is.
    • The camera monitoring system automatically displays the video stream of the tank experiencing the alert in full screen mode.
    • Email alerts with video clips or still images can also be sent to Operations Management Team
  • System can provide a relay output to manifold valve PLC’s to automatically close valves if valve system is equipped with such automation.
  • Exterior loud speaker can play the same audible alerts as the speaker inside the operations trailer alerting staff outside of the critical level in the tank.
  • The monitoring system can log the operator currently in the system along with the time it took to the operator to acknowledge the alert. If an alarm is not acknowledged in a given amount of time this relay could change states and trigger the PLC to close a valve.

Tank Documentation

  • System can automatically send still images of all tanks to Onsite Guardian servers offsite based on a given time interval. i.e. Every 5 minutes.
  • All images are date and time stamped.
  • Images can also be stamped with GPS coordinates to show exact geographical location.
  • Once installed the system archives these images from the beginning of the job to the end.
  • The image archive is kept indefinitely and can be exported to back up drives.
  • This feature can be used to combat any claims that the tanks overflowed and caused environmental damages.

Remote Support

  • Onsite Guardian’s DataCom Enclosure will also house a rugged 3g/4g/LTE router. This communications link will serve as a conduit for OSG technical staff to make program changes, troubleshoot, and repair system. It will also allow the cameras, viewing workstation, switches and related gear to report to us the health of each device. This will ensure all systems are functioning properly.
